The Power of Uncommon Beads

My husband always asks, "What is it with the beads? Aren't they just glass or stone with tiny holes? Why do you like them so much?!" Well, yes they are glass, stone, porcelain or whatever with tiny holes in them...but for me, it is the potential captured within each one and the beauty they resonate when placed in the hands of an artisan.....
You could give ten artisans the same beads and a weekend to create, and they would all fashion something completely and totally different....there aren't too many mediums out there with that kind of creative power. They are soothing....give a box of large beads to a fussy toddler and watch their eyes widen with glee, give a silk lined sac of fine murano beads to a hurting friend and watch her marvel and soften at their beauty, soon she may be sharing what is burdening her heart so...
My shop, Uncommon Beads, on etsy is the blossom of a long held dream of being in the business of beads....this is the most fun I have ever had working! Fun, creative people, gorgeous gemstones, riots of colors and cutting edge jewelry design--what's not to love! Thank you to all my kind and generous customers who have made the first two months of Uncommon Beads such a success!

Ah, yes the amazing power of beads. Who knew they could pack so much potential in such a small package.

For those of us addicted to beads, they are much more than tiny pieces of shiny rock with holes.
